What Cardly does

Cardly reads metadata from the webpage you choose to inspect so it can display search previews, Open Graph previews, X/Twitter card previews, metadata health checks, image diagnostics, and raw metadata information.

Data collection

Cardly does not collect, sell, rent, or transmit your personal information or browsing history to us. Page metadata inspected by the extension is processed locally in your browser for the purpose of providing the extension’s features.

Permissions

Cardly uses a limited set of Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — lets Cardly access the currently active page when you choose to use the extension.
• scripting — lets Cardly read metadata from that active page in order to generate previews and diagnostics.
• storage — stores local extension preferences such as appearance and tab behavior on your device.

Local storage

Settings saved by Cardly are stored through Chrome’s local extension storage. This information is used only to remember your preferences. Cardly does not use those preferences to build an advertising or behavioral profile.

Third-party services

Cardly does not require a Cardly account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or external API to perform its core metadata inspection. When you choose to open a detected image or URL, your browser may connect to the relevant website in the normal way.

Children’s privacy

Cardly is a general-purpose browser utility and is not directed toward collecting information from children. Because Cardly does not collect personal information through its core functionality, it does not knowingly maintain personal data about children.

Changes to this policy

If Cardly’s data practices or required permissions materially change, this policy may be updated to reflect those changes. The latest revision date will be shown on this page.
